2 Boston 2 Parity
2 Boston 2 Parity will be held on January 11th-12th, 2025 at the Stata center in Cambridge, MA (buildings 32-141 and 32-155).
Qualifiers
Qualifying will be done through this site and are open until January 10th (i.e. right before the event starts). For a primer on how this all works, go to the QUALIFYING section here.
MAKE SURE YOU READ THIS: this event uses a nontraditional qualifying method. Your overall score will be an average of two games in 1 hour, but the second game ("Score 2") only counts points before level 29. You can think of the format as averaging your best 39 HALT game and your best 29 HALT game. This rule is admittedly vague, so here's a long list of clarifications:
- You cannot submit the same game for both fields. If you get a 1.3 into 29, and a 1.8 into 39, you have to pick either Score 1 or Score 2.
- 29 HALT is defined in the standard way, so the line clear that causes you to enter level 29 counts for your score (same goes for 39 HALT). For example, if you have exactly 1.2 million points at 229 lines (level 18 start) and score a Tetris, your 29 HALT score is 1,236,000.
- You can play after you hit level 29/39, but any points scored here won't count for the field you submit into. Thus, if you get a really good score into 29, you can try and convert it into a good 39 score without penalty.
- Even if you don't reach level 29 or 39, the score still counts if you want.
- No sweat if you make a mistake when submitting! Our qual checker team can figure things out during verification. Just don't try to abuse this or anything, but that's common sense.
The remaining rules are taken from the CTM qualifier page:
- Click 'Start Qualifier' when you're really really ready to qualify.
- You'll be taken to a screen that gives you an AUTH WORD. This will be used to timestamp your qualifying session.
- You'll also see the form to submit your scores and your VOD link.
