Tournament Format and Rules

Go here for the full rules.

QUALIFYING DEADLINE: September 30th. Your qualifying session must start while it is still September 30th or before in your local timezone. That means your timer must start on September 30th or before. It may extend past midnight, but must start on September 30th or before. September 30th. Or before.

STRUCTURE: Masters is a 32-player flat bracket. All other tournaments are 16-player standard brackets.

SEEDING: Players are seeded in order of their qualifying scores. Masters finalists and the winner of the Futures Circuit will be guaranteed a spot in the following month's Masters. (No more "Morelando Method".)

FORMAT: All tournament matches are best-of-five, with the highest topout score winning each game.

PLAYSTYLE: Any playstyle is allowed. Players may not qualify with a less advanced playstyle (DAS->Hypertap->Rolling) than they play in the tournament.

KILLSCREEN: Masters players must use the 2xKS feature of Tetris Gym set to level 39. In tiers below Masters, normal level rules apply, i.e. if both players don't have Tetris Gym, they must "just stop playing" at level 39. If players don't stop playing, only their scores up to level 39 will count.

LEVEL: Masters, Futures, Hopefuls, Community T1: Level 18 starts for all games. Community T2/T3: Players take turns (lower seed first) choosing either level 15 or 18. Community T4/T5: Players take turns (lower seed first) choosing either level 12, 15, or 18. Community T6 and below: Players take turns (lower seed first) choosing either level 9, 12, 15, (18 may be chosen only by mutual agreement, and either player may veto it).

SCHEDULING: Masters is scheduled in groups of 2 or 3 matches by a scheduler according to player and streamer availability. Matches for all other tournaments are scheduled individually among players, and will be streamed by a community restreamer.

PIECES: Masters: Same piece sets (SPS) is required for matchplay. Seeds will be re-rolled between each game. All other tournaments: SPS is not required, but is highly encouraged if both players have Tetris Gym. Ultimately, both players must agree. The initial agreement is binding for the entire match.

GAME INTEGRITY: Players may not intentionally play below their true skill level (i.e. "smurf") in order to play in a lower seed position or a lower tournament tier. Violations of this provision will be judged at the sole discretion of the tournament organizer.

PLAYER IDENTITY: Masters: Players must stream with both face and hands visible on camera. By participating in a tournament, players agree to be streamed on our various livestreaming platforms and to allow CTM to use the recorded footage in our public archives and other video or social content. Players must conform to the Terms and Conditions of the various platforms involved with the tournament (e.g. Twitch, Discord).

You must be logged in to qualify.
