Tournament Format and Rules

Go here for the full rules.

STRUCTURE: Masters is a 32-player flat bracket. Futures is a 32-player standard bracket. Community tournaments are 16-player standard brackets.

SEEDING: Players are seeded in order of their qualifying scores. Masters semifinalists and the winner of the Futures Circuit will be guaranteed a spot in the following month's Masters. (No more "Morelando Method".)

FORMAT: All tournament matches are best-of-five, with the highest topout score winning each game.

PLAYSTYLE: Any playstyle is allowed. Players may not "smurf" by qualifying with a less advanced playstyle (DAS->Hypertap->Rolling) than they play in the tournament.

KILLSCREEN: Masters players must use the 2xKS feature of Tetris Gym set to level 49. In tiers below Masters, normal level rules apply, i.e. if both players don't have Tetris Gym, they must "just stop playing" at level 39 .

LEVEL: Masters will start on 19 on transition trainer mode, per the "Faster Masters" format. Normal rules apply for all other tournaments. Futures, Community T1: Level 18 starts for all games. Community T2/T3: Players take turns (lower seed first) choosing either level 15 or 18. Community T4/T5: Players take turns (lower seed first) choosing either level 12, 15, or 18. Community T6 and below: Players take turns (lower seed first) choosing either level 9, 12, 15, or 18.

SCHEDULING: Masters is scheduled in groups of 2 or 3 matches by a scheduler according to player and streamer availability. Futures and Community matches are scheduled individually among players, and will be streamed by a community restreamer.

PIECES: Masters: Same piece sets (SPS) is not possible on transition trainer mode, and therefore isn't required. All other tournaments: SPS is not required, but is highly encouraged if both players have Tetris Gym. Ultimately, both players must agree. The initial agreement is binding for the entire match.

PLAYER IDENTITY: Masters: Players must stream with both face and hands visible on camera. By participating in a tournament, players agree to be streamed on our various livestreaming platforms and to allow CTM to use the recorded footage in our public archives and other video content. Players must conform to the Terms and Conditions of the various platforms involved with the tournament (e.g. Twitch, Discord).

You must be logged in to qualify.
